Should I call or book online?

If you are a return guest of Vayu Spa and would like to schedule additional appointments, we encourage you to book online.  If you have a specific request or are booking for multiple people, your request can be more easily fulfilled if you call to make your appointment.  If you are scheduling a treatment for alleviation of pain or specific dysfunction please call to schedule, as we may be able to guide you to the therapist more suited to meet your needs.  If you have a physical impairment, disability, allergy, or recent surgery, please call to schedule.  We make every effort to accommodate all requests.  Please call for booking of Vayu Spa for parties.

How do I know which treatment to schedule?

In general, please select the massage that most fits your treatment goal.  Choose the amount of time you would like and then you can talk to your therapist before your session about customization of massage.  You may want a relaxation massage on most of your body and deep tissue on your most problematic area.  We can accommodate that, just let us know.

Can I receive massage while I'm pregnant?

We do offer Pre-Natal Massage.  We reserve this massage for pregnant women in the second or third trimesters.  Please book a Pre-Natal Massage and you can customize massage style and pressure with your therapist before massage.  For the safety of newly pregnant women, we do not perform massage in the first trimester.

What time should I arrive for my treatment at Vayu Spa?

We recommend that first time Vayu Spa guests arrive at least 30 minutes early to update personal information, complete paperwork, and begin to relax in our lovely relaxation area before treatment time.  Returning guests are advised to arrive at least 15 minutes early in order to enjoy refreshments and peaceful calm before being whisked away for treatment.

What should I wear to my treatment at Vayu Spa?

Be comfortable.  You will have plenty of time to disrobe and get situated on the massage/treatment table in privacy.  We encourage you to enjoy your session in whatever stage of dress you feel most comfortable.  Some prefer treatment in the nude while others prefer to remain in underwear.  Each guest will be draped for modesty for the entirety of treatment, uncovered is only the area that is currently being worked upon.

How shall I communicate with my therapist?

Your therapist will review your health intake questionnaire and ask appropriate questions in order to tailor your service to meet your needs.  Please speak to your therapist before treatment about problem areas, areas of concern, and massage preferences.  Communications will be kept confidential between you and your therapist.  Your therapist will ask questions to gauge guest comfort throughout the session.  Feel free to communicate with your therapist as you wish...whether something feels good or bad, you are too hot or too cold, or the music is too loud.  We welcome feedback and find that you are happier when we work as a team.

What is spa etiquette?

Please allow all spa guests to enjoy Vayu Spa in relative silence.  In order to provide a space for peaceful tranquility, please avoid use of cell phones, cameras and other electronic devices.  Please keep talk at a low level in public spaces.  Our massages and treatments are a professional service performed by highly trained therapists, please treat them with respect.  Your treatment session will end on-time in order to accommodate the next guest but if you would like to continue to relax at Vayu Spa, we have both an indoor and an outdoor relaxation area that can be enjoyed for as long as you like.
